Frequently Asked Questions About Learning How To Dance
- Q. Do I need a partner to start dancing?
- No. You can take private lessons with an instructor – you don’t have to wait until you find a partner. Once you start dancing it will be easier to meet people who like to dance.
- Q. Can I take lessons even if I've never danced before?
- Yes, Paul and Donna specialize in teaching people who have never danced as well as advanced dancers.
- Q. How much do private lessons cost?
- A 45-minute private lesson costs $80.00. The cost is the same if you take by yourself, or with a partner.
- Q. How long does it take to learn to dance?
- It depends on the individual and how proficient you want to become. In three to five lessons you can learn the basics of a few social dances like swing, salsa and foxtrot. If you want to learn more dances, and more steps, you can take lessons for months or years.
- Q. I can't hear the beat of the music. Can I still learn to dance?
- Many men in particular believe they can’t hear the beat in the music. Generally they haven’t been taught what to listen for. We can teach you to learn to hear the start of each measure and the beats you will dance to.
